  1. Tough router in a small package Review by Hickory

I bought this router to edge door frames. It offers fine control for this purpose, where either a router table or a a full sized router doesn't cut it. This router is fully capable of heavy work, with power to spare. It has no problem with most 1/4" bits. The variable speed is very useful to control burning. Buy one, you won't regret it. 2. My Most Used Router Now Review by Dreamcatcher

For the price, I don't know why I don't have a few of these in my tool arsenal.

I got this router to replace my old laminate trimmer (which I never really used for trimming laminate). I was instantly amazed at how well ergonomically designed it is as well as how powerful it is. I have found through use that it can perform 90% of my routing needs. The one handed design and low weight make narrow edge routing operations much easier compared to steadying a 'full sized' router.

One big problem is that it only comes with one collet wrench and the integrated arbor lock wears out quickly. I ended up making a second wrench to fit a notch on the arbor shaft.

The few small cons concerning this router are that it only accepts 1/4" shank bits, the visibility in the base is small and limiting, and the square base makes routing along a guide difficult. But since most router bits use bearings this isn't a major problem. (Posted on 9/26/2013)

  3. Great all around product Review by WoodNMetal

This is a highly effective and useful tool o have in ones arsenal whether a Pro or DIY'er. Has a great deal of power, yet smooth enough to control with a single hand...even during start-up.

A few things would be nice additions. Such as including a round base in the kit and adding an LED w/an off feature. (Posted on 9/26/2013)

  4. Excellent, well-made palm router Review by THEOLDROT

The Bosch tool does a terrific job in trimming and light-to-medium routing. It is perfect for my small, home woodworking tasks. I can now leave the big router in the table and get out the Colt for most jobs. I will probably buy more Bosch tools in the future. (Posted on 9/26/2013)

  5. give it a chance Review by Jake

i know most people think bigger is better but this router is more than enough for what most people do with them. i got this router for christmas about 4 years ago and it still works like brand new. it has plenty of power, its easy to control, the bits change quickly and easily. i just cant say enough about it. i also own the big bosch router with the plunge base but i find myself pulling this one out more often because its so nimble and easy to control and easy to use. 6. Why didn't I buy this sooner? Review by Sawdustgrandpa

Had been looking at this little gem for several months. After reading some great reviews in Woodworking mags, decided to get one. Used Christmas gift cards the day after and bought the variable speed version. Did a Cliff note's read on the instruction booklet, stuck a roundover bit in the collett and was making sawdust in minutes. This router handles like a dream and is ergonomically fantastic. The soft start and variable speed will make this one of my "go to" tools for a long time. I have larger routers if I need to use larger than a 1/4" bit. I have no doubt that the Colt would handle larger, but it isn't designed for that. The machine is well built and appears will stand up to much use. Buy this router, don't put it off. You, like me, will wonder why you waited so long. (Posted on 9/26/2013)

  7. A must-have Review by Tinkerer1

This is my first router, and I am happy to have bought something to last long and do the job well.

I like the robustness and ease of use - I am not a carpenter, but an electrical engineer, and this far had used a drill, file & chisel to do the very few similar 'projects' .

Now I needed something more precise to embed permanent magnets in self-closing door-panels.
Doing the job with the PR20EVSK felt as if I had done it my whole life.

Recommendation to Bosch: Provide a thicker base (could even be made of HDPE plastic) and a set of 4 longer M4 screws, so that longer bits could be accommodated in the tool's nominal cut-depth range.
(I was lucky to have bike-part M4's and a wood piece of approx. the right size - but it still meant having to fiddle with extra woodwork such as using a hole saw etc)
If this idea is deemed interesting by Bosch, I'd certainly appreciate better such a thicker base instead of the 'home-brewed' wooden one. (Posted on 9/26/2013)

  8. Handy Review by Carson

Also have a large Bosch router. This one is great for making profiles or flush trimming. Not cumbersome at all. Can use with one hand. It's very handy, comfortable, easy to adjust and use. Also has plenty of power. (Posted on 9/26/2013)

  9. Great power in a small package Review by DIYGUY

Been using my Colt for a few years now and really love it! Micro Adjust is nice to fine tune. As most users do, I've made my own bases - easy. (Posted on 9/26/2013)

  10. Great Palm Router Review by WoodshedRob

This router is great for all trim work. It is easy to handle and has plenty of power to do the job right. This made finishing counter-tops a breeze compared to a full-sized router and it is holding up great. (Posted on 9/26/2013)

  11. Very Handy Tool Review by Magrew

This little router is so easy to operate that I use it more than the others I have unless the job calls for the larger ones.It is great having variable speed and it's size is most handy getting into places that a large router won't fit.It is faster to grab this one and get the job done and move on to the next part of a project.I have had mine for 2 years now and it has been used alot and still works just as good as when it was new.I also bought the base plate for Porter Cable bushings and the large baseplate.I recommend this router! (Posted on 9/26/2013)

  12. VERY COOL MACHINE Review by Yves.b7

Since I buy it, I use it 90% of the time.

Very light and powerful, I use it all the time instead of my big router for the trimming of counter-top and the carving of doors hinges.

The only thing to add is a light or led it will help to see the line when you use it free-hand (Posted on 9/26/2013)

  13. Darn nice tool! Review by HarvestKyle

I got a Colt after using a co workers for door hinges two years ago. I paid less then I figured the tool would cost and have since put my larger router in the shop and only carry this one in my trailer. I have yet to come accross a situation in the field where this toll wont perform what I need it to. The only thing Bosch should add to this great tool is an LED light...with that I would have no problem giving it a perfect score. (Posted on 9/26/2013)

  14. nicer then most other palm routers Review by grandmaster

id like the case to be able to fit a small router bit box or two ...

it looks like it can fit it but it takes much modification and its about an eight too small in hieght

please be more thoughtful when designing the cases as it makes my begining of my day and again the end of my day much better (Posted on 9/26/2013)

  15. Great little router Review by Terry

I just purchased this router to replace a 30 year old large, heavy router. This router is light and easy to use. I'm trimming out our kitchen and dining room remodel and this router handles nicely. Great router for the price. I highly recommend this router. (Posted on 9/26/2013)

  16. This product is well made and powerful and easy to use. Review by Ron

I bought this small router to finish a small job without taking my big one off the router table. It will see a lot more use, as it is light, powerful and easy to use. I especially like the low torque startup. I will be buying more attachments, it needs the dust collector. (Posted on 9/26/2013)

  17. Powerfully Easy Operation Review by dbin78

This palm router has full features in a compact package! The small size should not deter you; the torque and speed is more than enough to effortlessly work on your wood projects. One-handed operation provides precise control on small projects with little fatigue on larger ones. (Posted on 9/26/2013)

  18. ok trim router Review by Ron Clark

I got this trim router to replace my old bosch trim router.
all around its a really nice router, lots of power, soft start.
My only problem with it is the adjustable base. its hard to get the really fine adjustments done. (Posted on 9/26/2013)

  19. excellent small router Review by kjs

This router is more powerful than it looks like. Very precise and ergonomic. Already routed several templates and then the parts I needed.
Build a routing table from MDF and wood for it which makes it even more useful.
Typical for Bosch it has a long power cord which is nice to have. (Posted on 9/26/2013)

  20. Easy to use Review by tscott

Worked at the cabin last weekend remodeling and a co-worker was able to use the router without any difficulty. Tool performed very well. (Posted on 9/26/2013)

  21. Versatile Review by Miru077

This router is great.  I love how the unit is so compact, and yet yields so much power as well.  I first used this little palm router to build myself my own router table for another router that I have and it made the project go so smoothly. (Posted on 9/26/2013)

  22. Review by sylvain

This is a great little router, works very well. great for finishing off decks, nosings etc..Compact, well priced.  Little noisy when using straight cut flute bits and must remove bit to put away in its case.
Great product, I am very happy with it. Would recommend it to anyone looking for small compact router that works well.  (Posted on 9/26/2013)

  23. Great router! Review by flstateu2002

Received this router as my Father's Day gift from my wife.  It runs smoothly and easily...so easy in fact I've already found my wife out in the garage using it for her crafts.  Love it! (Posted on 9/26/2013)

  24. JUST WHAT THE DR ORDERED Review by peanut44

I bought this to be used in the updating of a house to be able to see the house. I had to replace every door in the house. This means hinges, striker plates, latch plates etc. had to be installed. I have a jig or templates for these and boy has it been easy. The router is very easily adjusted which makes it fast to work with. For me the best part of its ease of use is the light weight which allows one hand operations when needed. It also works great on trimming laminate. (Posted on 9/26/2013)
